Redbird State Recreational Area
Local near Dugger just north of SR 54 on the Greene and Sullivan County line, this 1400-acre property contains approximately 50 miles of “marked” Off-Road Vehicle Trails. From gentle slopes to technically difficult trails, “Redbird” (as it is known locally) delivers trails for all skill levels as they twist through the spoil piles left by early-era mining in the region. Former “haul roads” wind through the property, allowing drivers of street machines to glimpse a world of the past where nature is slowly healing evident by the return of native vegetation and animal species. Whether you are wandering through thick wooded acres or traversing challenging hills and ravines, Redbird has something for every off-road enthusiast, whether pick-up truck, dirt bike, SUV, ATV, UTV, or dune buggy.
