Linton Commercial Historic District

Roughly bounded by Northeast/Northwest “B”, Northeast/Southeast 1st, Southeast “A”, and Southeast/Southwest 1st Streets in Downtown Linton; this district is one of the five properties in Greene County listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The district is significant for both the two primary architectural styles, Italianate and Romanesque; and also its impressive collection of twenty-three cast metal facades represented by three different manufacturers:  Thatcher A. Parker Company of Terre Haute, Hetherington & Berner Company of Indianapolis, and George L. Mesker & Company of Evansville, who have the majority with fifteen facades intact.
